
Position: Advocate/Resource Counselor-Full-time
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement safety and structure of program including hotel/resident checks
- Provide support counseling and crisis intervention when appropriate
- Provide facilitation and constructive resolution of household disputes
- Manage hygiene, psychiatric, drug and alcohol, medical and medication issues for all residents as necessary
- Provide advocacy based on individual resident needs
- Meet weekly with residents, log appropriate notes in file & daily log
- Assist residents in all steps toward achieving housing goals
- Collect and log contributions in a timely manner
- Provide telephone information and referral
- Advocate on behalf of residents needing professional support services
- Assist in the supervision and welcoming of volunteers and donors
- Assist in training new and relief staff
- Write clear, concise shift notes on a daily basis
- Assist in maintenance of facility, report major maintenance issues to director
- Perform other program tasks as needed
- Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings and supervision
- Attend and participate in staff in-service trainings
- Report all professional concerns to supervisor
